Bier Stube, 417 15th St., Moline. The Bier Stube's second location in downtown Moline offers more than 46 varieties of beer on tap, as well as a menu of German and European specialties created by owners Dieter and Nancy Rebitzer. (309) 797-3049

Blue Cat Brew Pub, 113 18th St., Rock Island. A relaxing, artsy spot to try a specially formulated brew, chill out for a lunch broiler, or sit down to dinner by lamplight. Owner Dan Cleaveland invents the beer; his sister, co-owner Martha Cleaveland, creates recipes in the kitchen. (309) 788-8247

Brews Pub & Coffee Bar, 1043 Oakwood Ave., Geneseo, offers fine family dining, a bar with more than 70 bottled beers, and a full coffee bar serving espresso drinks and fresh baked goods. There's something for everyone. (309) 944-2739

Bubble Tea Cafe, Southpark Mall, 4500 16th St., Moline. The unique smoothie drinks come with or without ``bubbles'' -- balls of dark-colored tapioca. Sandwiches, salads and a variety of other beverages are available.

Bud's Skyline Inn, Airport Road, Moline. Large portions of home-style cooking, an extensive salad bar, and house specials such as prime rib and catfish. (309) 764-5019

Centro, 131 W. 2nd St., Davenport. For New York flavor and a hip atmosphere, this is the place. Pizza from two coal-fired ovens, wood-grilled specialties, sandwiches, and desserts with an Italian flair. (563) 323-0300

Chino's Mexican Restaurant, 601 15th St., Moline. Endless combinations of tacos, tostadas, enchiladas and burritos fill this affordable menu. Accurate service, along with chips and salsa, are delivered every time. (309) 762-9763

Corina's Authentic Mexican Restaurant, 3939 16th St., Moline. Noted for large portions of made-from-scratch Mexican cuisine, including fresh soups and not-too-spicy red rice. The atmosphere is bright and airy. (309) 736-9877

Crave, 5250 Utica Ridge, Davenport, is the Quad-Cities' only eatery equipped with a fondue room. The restaurant offers a full bar and an eclectic grill menu aside from the dipped delicacies. (563) 441-9991

Cup a Jo, 1603 5th Ave., Moline. Homemade soups, piled-high sandwiches, a selection of specialty drinks, and fresh-baked breakfast pastries and breads. Try the chai tea and the chicken-noodle soup. (309) 736-3607

The Daily Grind, 321 W. 1st Ave., Milan. ``A scone's throw from the Milan bridges,'' this place serves up scones, muffins, sandwiches, salads, gourmet coffees and teas. Sit in the cozy dining area if the weather's chilly, or on the patio in the sun on a warm day. (309) 787-6811

Danny Boy's Pizza and More, 418 W. Main St. A, Geneseo. For those who like a spicier sausage, Danny Boy's sausage-and-mushroom pizza fills the bill. The clean '50s/'60s decor make it a place to relax with the family; or pick up and take it home. (309) 944-2000

Exotic Thai II, John Deere Road, Moline, across from Lowe's off 38th Avenue. This single-room restaurant offers novices to Thai cuisine a place to try popular dishes in a friendly, comfortable atmosphere. (309) 797-9998

14th Avenue Waffle Shop, 4128 14th Ave., Rock Island. Simple breakfast fare served in a family-friendly environment; goes easy on the pocketbook. (309) 788-4181

Habaneros, a Mexican favorite in Moline, now has another location inside NorthPark Mall, Davenport. The brightly-colored cantina serves the same authentic dishes that make the Moline location a hit. (563) 388-8668

Hi-Ho Mongolian Grill, 901 E. Kimberly Road, Davenport. Diners choose from a buffet of thinly sliced meats and vegetables and an array of sauces. Chefs quickly cook the food by the bowlful on a giant, gas-fired grill. Stir-fry to die for. (563) 445-0800

Hit Parade Buffet, Rhythm City Casino, Davenport, offers five food stations serving salads, homestyle dishes, barbecue, freshwater fish and seafood, and sweets. Chefs make their own delicious barbecue sauce. You must be 21 to dine inside the casino. (563) 328-6000

La Flama, 1514 5th Ave., Moline. The in-house salsa can be spicy hot one day, milder the next, because the cooks use fresh peppers in every batch, say owners Alex, Martin and Juan Garcia. The tortilla soup is a lunchtime favorite. For dinner, try the tangy suizas enchiladas. (309) 797-3756

Latte Drive, 5266 Elmore Ave., Davenport. For a quick, convenient pick-me-up, this coffee shop provides drive-through service only. Baked goods from Great Harvest Bread Co. perfectly complement the coffee and blended espresso drinks. (563) 355-0040

The Lodge, 708 S. Main, Port Byron. For a great steak you grill yourself and a salad bar served in a real canoe, The Lodge makes a fun dining experience. Watch the Mississippi River roll by; owners Gary and Karrie King open up deck seating on warm nights for an even better view. (309) 523-2876

Los Agaves Mexican Grill, 3852 N. Brady St., Davenport. Reasonably priced Mexican fare in a clean, distinctively decorated dining room. Fast, friendly and accurate service makes this a great place for lunches. (563) 386-5949

Maggie Moo's Ice Cream and Treatery, 5264 Utica Ridge Road, Davenport. Personalized ice cream in a bright, clean environment makes fun for everyone. Choose your own mix-in ingredients. The ``Best Batter'' ice cream tastes just like yellow-cake mix. (563) 355-6661

Mama Compton's, 1706 3rd Ave., Rock Island. More than a spot to grab a quick sandwich or cup of soup; it also sells ice cream, coffee you brew yourself, and several grocery items in the old Robinson and Miller hardware store. Ming Wah Chinese Restaurant, 1315 41st St., Moline. For a never-ending pot of tea, a generous plate of food and a fortune cookie for under $5, this is the place. With more than 68 dishes on the menu, there's something for everyone. (309) 736-1888

Mojo's Cafe, inside the historic Redstone building at 131 W. 2nd St., Davenport, offers a selection of grilled paninis, soups, gourmet sodas and espresso drinks in a warm, musical atmosphere. A relaxing place for a quick lunch or a lengthy sippin' siesta. (563) 326-1555

Moon River Supper Club, 101 1st Ave., Andalusia. A relaxing atmosphere along the river makes this restaurant/piano bar comfortable and distinctive. Homemade everything, from coleslaw to marinades for grilled meats. Friday nights are catfish night; reservations come recommended. (309) 798-2354

Nancy's Pizzeria, 677 Avenue of the Cities, East Moline. Stuffed and thin-crust pizzas, Chicago style, are the main attraction here. Eat in, carry out or take delivery on pizza, sandwiches, pasta and more at this location. (309) 755-3000

Taste of Cuba, 1526 Harrison St., Davenport. Watch co-owner Cari Dotra cook up a traditional Cuban meal from a counter seat. Tamales, empanadas, spicy rice and plantain chips prepared Cuban-style round out the menu in this homey restaurant. (563) 323-2822

3rd and 22, corner of 3rd Avenue and 22nd Street, Rock Island. This no-smoking, family-oriented sports bar and restaurant offers a full menu and sports galore. It's a great spot to meet with friends for a drink or take the family for a burger and fries. (309) 283-0822
